Buyer Reviews
I've used 4 brands of water timers more than 21 years for our pretty significant gardens here in Northern California. Only the Gilmour 9400 timer has had the fewest issues in the ten years I've owned them. Intuitive keypad layout. Removable leading for programming. Bugproof as well!
I can confidently say the Gilmour 9400 Water Timer didn't perform for me. In all I bought four of them hoping 1 of them would operate. In the finish I returned them all. Every unit would operate for a day and then quit. Yes, it produced noise like the valve was moving to let the water run. Nevertheless, absolutely nothing happened.
You may honestly wonder why I'm giving it 3 stars as an alternative of 1. It's due to the fact I think my water pressure is also high for the Gilmour water timer. (A plumber last year told me the water pressure was above normal in our subdivision.) I did an on the internet search to see if other people had encountered this difficulty, and I did not see any evaluations of folks who did. It makes me suspect our water pressure is an unusual circumstance and for most people the Gilmour would operate fine.
Here is what I liked about the unit:
- Somewhat very easily to set watering instances.
- Have a manual override that doesn't disrupt the previously programmed watering times
- Flexibility in setting water occasions.
The cause I purchased 4 (two at a time) is I liked the controls so substantially I kept hoping it was just I kept obtaining defective units. I'm practically positive the problem was the water pressure would build up more than a day and the unit would stop functioning.
(You can see my critique on the Claber 15 Preset Water Timer, which is what I am now employing.)
